Yaks definitely need a test trip prior to purchase - no matter if it's very short. I would not mislead you on this! Rules of thumb - and generally speaking! Do not buy all the additions (Bells and whistles) that are offered for a particular model, but do buy a model that can accept the ones you might want later. Holler at me if you need company. Rather, you find some decent (Smallish!) shrimp, and we'll go in my boat. Two of us, anyway. Three would be too much of a load. However, I believe the Spring shrimp season opens Monday - lots of boats and stirred-up water. I might be way wrong, but I kinda doubt a trip down there would be worth the effort now. Pete Zack –
